Director
Simon has been involved with taxation for over 30 years, commencing as a Junior Accountant with a medium sized firm in late 1989. Gilberts Accounting broke away from this firm in 1997, where Simon was the Senior Accountant.
After earning a Bachelor in Commerce at Uni SA in 1999, Simon continued on to earn CPA certification, and is now a Fellow of the CPA.
Able to assist with all manner of tax compliance requirements, Simon does enjoy expanding clients knowledge on their property investments to ensure full compliance is achieved.
To relax, Simon enjoys movies, with an extensive DVD/Blu Ray collection, working out, Darts and enjoying a glass of wine with friends.
Senior Accountant
Ben is our senior accountant and has been with the firm since May 2012, a Chartered Accountant since September 2005 and Chartered Tax Advisor.
He really enjoys getting involved with business discussions, especially succession planning and business structures.
Ben has experience across a wide range of industries and in the past had a focus on medical and health professionals. He is experienced with many accounting packages including Xero, MYOB, Phoenix and QuickBooks. He also has experience with Self-Managed Superannuation Funds and Not-For-Profit entities.
When not accounting Ben enjoys 10 pin bowling, touch footy, watching sport and playing computer games. He is also strongly involved with his local church through singing and as Treasurer.
Accountant
Jin is a highly motivated tax accountant who has completed a Master of Accounting and
Finance at the University of Adelaide. She is passionate about accounting and is working
towards a CPA certificate. She worked as a tax accountant for over three years before joining
Gilberts Accounting. Jin believes that accounting is not just about numbers but also the
language of business.
Jin is passionate about improving client’s financial wellbeing, focussing on annual tax
compliance and ongoing review of client performance throughout the year.
Outside of work, Jin enjoys camping with her friends and family, working out regularly. She
also enjoys working closely with local community as a volunteer in the Family by Family
organisation.
Office Manager
Lyn has been associated with tax agents for over 36 years. Her job title is Office Manager, but also prepares small tax returns, specifically with rental properties, share investments and can also help with Xero payroll. You may also hear her answering the phones or see her at reception from time to time. Lyn strives to give her clients accurate information and to always provide their work within our set timeframes.
On the personal side she is a country girl growing up on a wheat and sheep farm 60 klms northeast of Streaky Bay on the West Coast. Lyn loves a bit of retail therapy, a long-time member of the Adelaide 36ers and loves returning to the West Coast.
Administrative Assistant
Pam has been working in the Accounting Industry as a Receptionist / Administration Assistant for over 30 years.
She is your first point of contact with Gilberts Accounting and can assist you with the processing of ASIC documentation, TFN, ABN and GST registrations, actioning the incorporation of new Companies, Trusts and Super Funds.
Outside of work, Pam enjoys relaxing in the garden with her dog Lily and knits teddy bears for charity.
